Graphic Animation

RULES for GRAPHIC ANIMATION

  • Create a graphic animation in 2D or 3D based on Nga Haka me nga Waiata o Ngati Porou 
  • All animations must be no longer than 3 minutes Max (including credits).  Entries over this time limit will be disqualified.
  • Graphic animations may be created by animating computer graphics designed by students
  • All animations must  be supplied as High Quality Quicktime, MPEG  or AVI files.
  • Please create 1 copy of all your schools animation entries and submit on CD/DVD, Memory Stick or Mac-Compatible External Hard-drive.

What is a graphic animation?

A graphic animation is a cartoon created using a computer animation programme.

How to make a graphic animation?

  • Brainstorm your story and characters
  • Create a Storyboard
  • Write a Script
  • Create animated frames using programmes like Macromedia Flash, Blender, Marvin, Microsoft Paint & Powerpoint etc
  • Add music and narration.

Examples

  • Watch cartoons on Cartoon Network or on TV 2, 3 and MTS after school
  • Watch animated movies and music videos.
